40 German youngsters had the possibility of carrying out a short training time in Poland through the educative programme of the European Commission Program Leonardo da Vinci . The grant had the duration of four weeks and it was available between January and April 2007.
The sending organization, Gesellschaft für Europabildung; the receiving organization, Semper Avanti,
which has delegations in the two most beautiful Polish cities: Wrocław (Breslau) and Lublin. 20 youngsters went to the first city, and the other half to the second one.
The participants in the programme did not have to have knowledge of Polish language, but be interested in the cultural programme prepared by the receiving organization as well as be open-minded to be able to work and life in other culture and with others traditions.
The general opinion of the German participants was positive not only in the professional aspects but also in their personal experiences. One example of that is Piotr Konrad , a young student of Brandenburg who took part in the project: “All my experiences (professional and personal) were important for me and my career. Although I did not learn any new things, I had the possibility of going in deep in my works field but in other quite different cultural and professional context”.
